1. Introduction

Made It Home is operated by Hey June, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Made It Home mobile application (the "App") and related services (the "Service"). The Service is offered only in the United States and is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old.

Privacy is central to how the Service works. As a personal safety app, we collect only the information necessary to provide it, and we do not sell your personal data.

In short: your location and session details are captured only while a safety session is active, are shared with your contacts only when an alert is triggered (such as a missed check-in), are never monitored by us, and are automatically deleted after the session ends.

During an active session, if photo sharing is enabled (you can turn it off per session), the App automatically collects photos from your device's photo library that were taken during that session, with your permission to access your library, so they can be shared with your Circle of Trust if an alert is triggered. These photos may include embedded metadata such as the time taken and, depending on your device, location coordinates. Like all session data, they are deleted after the session ends.

If you enable biometric sign-in (such as Face ID or Touch ID), the biometric check is performed entirely by your device's operating system. We never receive or store your biometric data.

2.3 Information About Non-Users

When you add someone to your Circle of Trust, you provide us with their name and phone number. We use this information solely to send invitations and safety alerts on your behalf. Non-users may contact us to request removal of their information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may create and use de-identified or aggregated data (which cannot reasonably be used to identify you) to operate and improve the Service. We do not attempt to re-identify it.

4. SMS and Push Notification Consent

4.1 SMS Messages

By creating an account, you consent to receiving SMS messages including OTP codes, session reminders, and alert notifications. Message frequency varies based on usage. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

By adding contacts to your Circle of Trust, you represent that you have their consent to receive SMS messages from Made It Home on your behalf. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out.

4.2 Push Notifications

We send push notifications for session reminders, alerts, and invitation updates. You can disable push notifications through your device settings at any time. Disabling them may reduce the effectiveness of the Service.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We also do not monitor your sessions; the Service operates automatically and no person at our company watches your location or check-ins.

5.1 With Your Circle of Trust

When an alert is triggered (for example, you miss a check-in or you trigger an SOS), we notify your active Circle of Trust members and may share information associated with that session. Depending on the session and your settings, this can include your name, destination, location, battery level, and any outfit photo or session photos. Your contacts also receive a notification when you mark yourself safe. Outside of an alert, your contacts do not see your location or session details.

Once information is shared with a contact during an alert, we cannot control what they do with it. For example, a contact may view, save, or screenshot the location or photos shared with them.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, in response to valid legal process, or to protect the safety of any person, prevent fraud, or protect our legal rights.

5.4 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Location Data

Precise location is sensitive information, and it can reveal patterns about where you go and when. We treat it accordingly. Location is collected only when all of the following are true:

  1. You have an active session
  2. Location sharing is enabled for that session
  3. You have granted the App location permission on your device

You control location sharing for your check-in sessions. An SOS may also collect your location to help your contacts reach you.

While a session is active and location is being collected, the App collects your location periodically, including in the background, so it keeps working while the App is closed or your phone is in your pocket. It samples roughly every few minutes, and more frequently if you have missed a check-in. We do not collect your location outside an active session. We do not sell or share location data with advertisers or data brokers, and location tied to a session is automatically deleted after the session ends.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics SDKs that profile you. Because we only use essential cookies, there is nothing to opt into for advertising.

8. Where Your Data Is Stored and How We Protect It

Your information is stored and processed on servers located in the United States. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect it, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), rate limiting, access controls, and structured logging with sensitive data redaction in production. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Data Retention

Data minimization and automatic deletion are core to the Service. Session location data and photos are deleted automatically after a session ends, rather than retained.

10. Your US Privacy Rights

We extend the following rights to all Made It Home users in the United States, regardless of which state you live in. You may request to:

You can exercise many of these directly in the App, or by emailing rajat@madeithomeapp.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within 45 days). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10.1 California Residents

California law treats precise geolocation as "sensitive personal information." We use it only to provide the Service and do not use or disclose it for purposes that would require us to offer a separate "right to limit." We do not sell or share your personal information. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals on our website as a valid opt-out request.

11. Children and Age

The Service is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not direct the Service to, or knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact rajat@madeithomeapp.com.

12. Information About Your Contacts

When a Made It Home user adds you to their Circle of Trust, we receive your name and phone number. We use this to send invitations and safety alerts on their behalf. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS, or contact rajat@madeithomeapp.com to request deletion.

Phone numbers are sometimes reassigned to new people. If a contact's number has changed hands, an invitation or alert could reach the number's new owner. Users are responsible for keeping their Circle of Trust contacts current.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes within the App at least 30 days before they take effect and update the "Last updated" date above.
